Friday

Hola!

The past 24 hours have been very good! Last night was Karen and Carole´s last night so they had some people come over to hang out after Church. We kicked them out at 11 because it was a school night, but some guys from the band asked if I could open the gate for them later in the night so they could serenade the girls.

So I ended up staying up and waiting for the call that they were outside until 12:30. When they arrived they sat outside the bedroom window and sang but as the ¨doorkeeper¨I got to stay outside so I just layed in a hammock listening and admiring the stars and the moon. It was a completely unique and marvelous experience. Their songs are so sweet and beautiful.

After awhile the girls came out and the band played some more and the pastor talked to them for a few minutes. They left about 2 in the morning and I finally went to bed - only to get up at 6am! I´m exhausted but it was worth it.

Bolivia will be celebrating it´s independence day (Aug 6) on Sunday and Monday and they´re already preparing. So this morning the entire school gathered in the pavilion for some dance and song presentations native to Bolivia. The coolest part for me was when Carlos Hugo prayed and incorporated stuff about Bolivia, it´s history, culture, etc. into the prayer. It was so neat to try and comprehend how BIG and UNIVERSAL God is. I cannot wrap my mind around it!

We had dinner at Church member´s homes again tonight which was nice. I went to Angela´s where we had excellent Chinese food!

We´ve got a big day planned for tomorrow - an outreach in a nearby town, followed by a trip to the lake, followed by Church. The team leaves on Monday so we´re trying to fit as much in before then as we can!

God bless!
Laura
